PLANNING COMMISSION

The Planning Commission is an advisory board that makes recommendations to the Board of Zoning Adjustment regarding applications for Special Use Permits.  They consider issues regarding land use and recommend changes to the City Council regarding changes to the Zoning Ordinance. They are responsible for developing and maintaining a Comprehensive Master Plan for how the city’s land should be developed for its highest and best use. Meetings are held at 600 N Montgomery Avenue, Sheffield, Alabama. The Planning Commission meets at 5:30 PM on the 2nd Tuesday of each month.
