Muscle Shoals Sound

Muscle Shoals Sound Studio was formed in Sheffield, Alabama, in 1969, when a group of four session musicians called The Swampers decided to leave the nearby FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals to create their own recording set-up. Stop by this local landmark for pictures, merchandise, and tours.

Sheffield is home to The Ritz Theater, a 1920’s silent movie house that has been restored to its original grandeur. Located at 103 W. 3rd Street, Sheffield, The Ritz is now home to the Center Stage Community Theater.

Branching off of Muscle Shoals Sound, this beautiful studio sits right alongside the Tennessee River. Many internationally famous musicians have recorded hit albums here. Today, the building hosts a film production company, a media design office, and, of course, the famous recording studio is still frequently utilized.
